Who can participate in the Tour de Pepin?

The Tour de Pepin is a non-competitive tour (NOT A RACE) of the Lake Pepin area.  The event is open to all ages; however, an adult must accompany children under 15 years of age. Tour de Pepin is primarily on state highways and it may not be suitable for less experienced riders if they do not follow proper riding etiquette.

Please review our rules and safety link, as well as this website for more information www.sharetheroadmn.org. Contact us ahead of time if you need special accommodations.

What should I bring?

A helmet is required to participate in the Tour de Pepin. Wear bright clothing, and dress in layers appropriate for the weather. Bring a water bottle(s), a tire repair kit, an I.D. and medical insurance card, and an emergency contact number. It's a good idea for at least one person in your group to have a cell phone.

If I register for the 12 or 72 mile tour, and then change my mind--can I still take the Pearl shuttle?

Due to the limited number of passengers and shuttles, you will be required to have a Tour de Pepin Shuttle wristband to ride back to Lake City on the Pearl. You will receive the wristband at check-in, if you signed up for the 32-mile tour.

When can I use my free tickets for the boat excursion and National Eagle Center?

Tickets may be used at any time this season. You may be interested in a moonlight cruise on the Pearl which is being offered on Friday June 4th, beginning around 8:30pm. Reservations are recommended - call 651-345-5188.

When do the shuttles leave?

Debut (Wabasha riders): The bus shuttle will depart Wabasha at noon, from the Eagle's Nest Coffeehouse. You will be dropped off at the Ohuta park check-in area.

Milieu (Stockholm riders): Shuttles begin at 11am and run until 4:30pm. Allow one-hour, which includes time for loading and unloading passengers. Shuttles will run continuously, with each trip on a first-come basis. (75 passengers per trip max.)

I'm planning to attend the welcoming reception and spaghetti dinner on Friday, June 4th at Hok-Si-La park in Lake City. How much does it cost for non-TDP cyclists?

Riders eat for free. The charge for non-registered riders is $8 for adults, $6 for kids 5-12, and 4 and under are free.

Can I pick up my packet at the Friday night welcoming reception?

Yes. In that case, you won't need to pick anything up on Saturday morning, just start at the times listed below.

What time can I start?

Check-in and day of registration will run from 7am to 9am on Saturday, June 5th at Ohuta park in Lake City.  You may start anytime after you pick up your packet.  Cyclists choosing the Lac Plein (72-mile) route should plan to depart prior to 8:00 a.m. and those choosing the Milieu (32-mile) or Debut (12-mile) routes should begin no later than the 9:00 a.m. close of registration.

What if it rains?

The Tour de Pepin will take place rain or shine. In case of inclement weather or high winds, riders may be shuttled by bus.

Will there be safety and support vehicles during the Tour de Pepin?

Will the roads be closed during the Tour de Pepin?
