As Water Ski Days comes to a close, we’re already looking ahead to what’s next. One thing I’ve learned during my time at the Chamber is that there really isn’t an off season in Lake City. While one event ends, another is just around the corner, and the work of strengthening our community continues every day.
We often hear, “The Chamber does so many events.” While that’s true, I’d challenge that statement just a bit. The Chamber doesn’t do events alone—our community does.
Our members sponsor events, serve on committees, welcome visitors through their doors, and invest in ideas that make Lake City stronger. Volunteers generously give their time, businesses collaborate to create memorable experiences, and community partners come together to move Lake City forward. The Chamber simply has the privilege of bringing many of those pieces together.
Events are one of the tools we use to strengthen our community, and our members are at the heart of that work.
When visitors spend the weekend in Lake City, they dine in our restaurants, stay in our lodging properties, shop in our stores, and discover businesses they may not have otherwise known existed. When families make traditions of attending our community events, they’re creating memories while investing in the businesses and organizations that make Lake City special. The impact extends far beyond a single weekend.
But community isn’t built in a single weekend.
It’s built through partnerships, new ideas, and people who care enough to ask what comes next. It’s built when Chamber members support one another, invest in our community, and help create opportunities for businesses and residents alike to thrive.
That’s what excites me most about this work. We’re constantly looking ahead—celebrating traditions that have become part of Lake City’s story while dreaming about what those traditions can become in the future. We’re asking how we can make our events better, create more opportunities for our businesses to succeed, and continue building a thriving Lake City.

Your membership is about far more than a decal on your door or a listing in our directory—it’s an investment in the people, partnerships, and opportunities that strengthen our local economy and move our community forward.
