Change and Opportunity

Dear Lake City Community,

As we approach Thanksgiving this week, it’s a wonderful time to reflect on all that we have to be thankful for here in Lake City. Personally, I am filled with gratitude for the incredible support we receive from our Board of Directors, whose leadership and dedication continue to drive our mission forward. I’m equally thankful for our Ambassadors, who tirelessly promote and uplift our community, and the passionate committees behind events like Fall Fest and Water Ski Days as well as the Shops of Lake City committee that truly embody the spirit of this town.

This year has been one of significant change. We’ve witnessed turnover in many prominent local positions and organizations, but rather than seeing it as a challenge, I see it as an opportunity for growth and renewal. The energy and enthusiasm I feel in our community are palpable, and it’s exciting to think about what lies ahead. With each change comes potential, and we are ready to continue the momentum that is shaping the future of Lake City.

As we enter the holiday season, I encourage you to shop local. Our local boutiques and restaurants are the lifeblood of our community, and your support is more important than ever. Every purchase you make helps keep our town vibrant and strong. Let’s continue to stand behind them and show our appreciation for all they do.

And don’t forget to join us this Saturday for the Light Up Lake City event! It’s the perfect opportunity to make a day of it—get some early holiday shopping done, enjoy a meal at one of our great local spots, check out the new Festivus Exhibit at the Lake City Area Arts Center, and then come out to Patton Park to see Santa and watch the holiday lights shine bright.

Wishing you all a joyful and thankful Thanksgiving, and I look forward to celebrating this wonderful community with you in the coming days!

Warm regards,

Heather Thomas

Executive Director
