As you read this, I hope you have been able to appreciate of spring like robins, days getting longer, and the snow finally melting. This time of year is also when chamber is in full swing getting ready for our summer events. There are many components that must come together that are crucial to the success of Lake City’s event season. Without our member’s support, attendance from the community, and hundreds of volunteers that are committed to helping, the festivities could not go on!
We start the summer with our 16th Annual Tour de Pepin on Saturday, June 3rd. The event brings hundreds of visitors and cyclists to Lake City for a scenic bike ride around Lake Pepin. Everything wraps up with live music, food, and beverages in Ohuta Park. We encourage everyone in the community to come down to Ohuta, even if you aren’t riding in the Tour de Pepin.
This year we are offering a special early bird rate for the 2nd annual Y-Knot Tri Triathlon which will take place on Saturday, August 12th. Paddle, bike, and run your way through a fun course in beautiful Lake City. Individual or Team registration is available.
Of course, we ALL look forward to Water Ski Days at the end of June…and do we have some fun in store for YOU! We are finishing up our entertainment line-up with extended performances this year, along with other event details that we are excited to share with you soon. Many of you have seen the event posters around town, and I want to take this opportunity to announce we have added Thursday night back into the line-up this year, so Water Ski Days will run from June 22-25. We will kick off Thursday night with Knight Barry hosting the volunteer kick-off, beverage tent, food trucks, and live music. Stay tuned for more details soon…

Like I always say, it takes a village, and we couldn’t do it without our community standing behind us! If you want to get involved with any of our events, please reach out to us to have some fun, meet new people, and enjoy summer in Lake City.
The final note I want to share on the beautiful spring day, is a new program we have been working on. If you are new to the chamber, been a member for years, or curious what the chamber does we encourage to stop in for our first Chamber 101 on Thursday, April 20th. You will hear from Chamber staff and volunteers about the programs, benefits, and services that are available to Chamber members. This is a great time to understand what the Chamber has to offer your business, network, and enjoy some coffee and pastries. For more information sign up here
