Heartfelt Gratitude

Dear Lake City Community,

As we embrace the beauty of October, I want to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude to all of you for welcoming me into my new role as Executive Director of the Lake City Chamber of Commerce. Your warmth and support have made this transition a truly enjoyable experience.

October is also Manufacturing Month, a time to celebrate the incredible manufacturers that call Lake City home. Our local manufacturing sector is vital to our economy, providing jobs, fostering innovation, and supporting the community. The impact of manufacturing goes beyond just business; it strengthens our community fabric, enhances our local economy, and ensures a vibrant future for all of us. Please take a minute to recognize the local manufacturers in our community including: Acrotech, Inc., Tenneco, Hearth and Home Technologies, Pepin Manufacturing, Inc., Valley Craft, Ardent Mills, Airport Windsocks Co., ASI Hydraulics, Dakota Fluid Power, Engineering Laboratory Design, and more.

As we enjoy the crisp fall air, I’d like to acknowledge the tremendous efforts of the Fall Fest committee. Their hard work and dedication have brought our six-week celebration to life, culminating with  our 2nd Annual Trunk or Treat event on Halloween. We are incredibly thankful for the community’s support of this event. It brings us so much joy to host it, and we know how much it means to all of you.

Moving forward, I am committed to continuing the excellent work of my predecessors, fostering a collaborative spirit in our community. My goal is to build excitement not just within our business and retail sectors, but also to attract travelers to visit Lake City. Together, we can create an environment that energizes our volunteers and enhances the vibrancy of our events.

Thank you for being a part of this wonderful community. I look forward to working together to make Lake City an even more vibrant and welcoming place.

Warm regards,

Heather Thomas
Executive Director
