Kicking off Fall Fest!

Director’s Note – September

While you might think things slow down as summer fades, that’s not the case here at the Chamber! We’ve been busy kicking off a full season of fall activities, starting with the Lake City Fall Fest.

On Sunday, September 28, we celebrated the Fun Zone Grand Opening in Patton Park, and what a wonderful day it was to gather as a community! Families enjoyed live music from the Prairie Street Jazz Band, the always-popular FFA Petting Zoo, and a brand-new feature from the Lake City American Legion: the “American Ninja Warrior” obstacle course. Be sure to stop by in October to try it out! A huge thank-you to everyone who came to enjoy the set-up and share in the fun.

Behind the scenes, we’re also hard at work finalizing the Lake City Visitor Guide, which will go to print in November and be distributed in late December—just in time for the new year.

And of course, this weekend we look forward to one of our most beloved traditions: Johnny Appleseed Day! From live music all day, food trucks, arts and crafts vendors, and children’s activities in the morning, to our 3rd Annual Beer & Cider Fest featuring a wide variety of local craft brewers—you won’t want to miss this celebration of fall in Lake City.

The fun doesn’t stop there—every weekend in October is packed with activities, making Lake City the place to be this fall.

Now is also a perfect time to consider joining the Lake City Chamber of Commerce. Membership not only connects you with a supportive network of local businesses, but also gives you opportunities for increased visibility, ribbon cuttings, and access to Chamber events and resources. Together, we can continue strengthening our community and local economy. If you’d like to learn more, reach out to us at director@lakecity.org or 651-345-4123—we’d love to welcome you!

Along with events and membership, we are also deeply engaged in economic development. The Chamber continues to collaborate with the Lake City Port Authority and City Planning Department on strategies that strengthen our business community and downtown district. We’re also proud to be connected with Minnesota Mainstreet, bringing statewide resources, best practices, and revitalization tools to Lake City. These partnerships help ensure our community not only thrives today but also grows stronger for years to come.

We’re grateful for your continued support and enthusiasm. Let’s keep the momentum going as we celebrate this vibrant season together!
