Dear Chamber Members,
As April wraps up, I’m excited to share the incredible momentum we’re building as we head into our busiest season of the year. This month has been filled with activity — and progress!
We have been hard at work finalizing event plans, including securing vendors, entertainment, and logistics for Water Ski Days and Tour de Pepin. We’re thrilled to announce that over 500 cyclists have already registered for Tour de Pepin! It’s shaping up to be one of our biggest rides yet. Registration remains open, and the excitement is building as we prepare to welcome participants from across the region for this signature event around beautiful Lake Pepin.
Water Ski Days planning is also in full swing, with new additions to the schedule like expanded beverage tents, enhanced ski shows, and improved park layouts to make this beloved festival even better.
Our Lunch & Learn series launched this month, offering valuable sessions on social media marketing, small business fraud prevention, and employee theft awareness. Thank you to everyone who has participated and helped strengthen our local business community through these opportunities for growth and learning.
This month, we also welcomed new Chamber members and continued strengthening community partnerships — including collaboration with the City of Lake City and the Lake City Port Authority — to support business growth and tourism initiatives. Behind the scenes, we’ve been focused on tightening operations and rolling out marketing efforts that highlight everything our vibrant community has to offer. It’s been energizing to see these initiatives come together as we set the stage for a strong summer season.
As we prepare for these major events, volunteers are essential to making them a success. I’m excited to share that the volunteer schedule for Tour de Pepin is now officially open! Whether you’re an individual, a business team, or part of a service group, we invite you to be part of the fun. From rider registration to rest stop support, volunteers play a critical role in bringing these events to life. It’s always inspiring to see how our community comes together to support these efforts, and we encourage everyone to get involved.
Thank you for your ongoing support, energy, and belief in the power of community. We can’t wait to see you this summer!
Warm regards,
Heather Thomas
