Summer is officially here, and that means it’s time to celebrate our iconic Water Ski Days starting this week! This year promises to be the biggest and best yet. We have adjusted the layout at Ohuta Park as we really dial in to make the best use of the space. The entrance will be located at Park and Chestnut Street, along with all the downtown food vendors. Expect thrilling water shows, live music all weekend long, delicious food vendors, and so much more. 

As always, this is the perfect event to reconnect with friends and family and enjoy all that Lake City has to offer. Please, if you or anyone is interested in volunteering for a small time slot throughout the weekend, we have a lot of spots to fill, and would really appreciate your consideration. It takes a village, and we couldn’t host this event without the support of our members, sponsors, and of course volunteers. 

Along with the exciting arrival of Water Ski Days this week, I am also thrilled to announce that Heather Thomas has accepted the position as your new Executive Director of the Lake City Chamber of Commerce. Heather has been with the chamber for a year and a half, and honestly is a complete rock star. She is a wealth of knowledge and experience, and I am confident she will play a pivotal role in supporting local businesses, fostering economic growth, and making Lake City an even more vibrant community…all while having a cheery smile upon her face. If you see her out and about give her a warm welcome to her new role. 

Thank you for all of your support over the last three years, it has been an absolute pleasure working with everyone in our Lake City community. I will truly miss working at the chamber, but hope to continue in an ambassador and volunteer role Happy Summer and Happy Water Ski Days!
